Conductivity meter principles

Conductivity meters are used to measure the ability of a substance to conduct electricity. In general, these devices are used in laboratories and industry to measure the level of impurities in a solution. Conductivity meters can also be used to detect leaks in electrical conductors.

Introduction of Conductivity meter

A conductivity meter is an instrument used to measure the electrical conductivity of a solution, it is a measure of the ability of a substance to conduct electricity. The unit is measured in siemens per meter (S/m). A substance is determined by its ion concentration. The higher the ion concentration, the higher its conductivity. Substances that have high ion concentrations, such as salts, are good conductors of electricity, and substances that have low ion concentrations, such as pure water, are bad conductors.

Do you know what a conductivity meter is?

Conductivity is a physical feature of a material, and it is not part of a circuit as the current. It is a measure of a material’s ability to conduct an electric current.
